Chris Neveling, MD

Chris is 50 years old and lives in Heldervue, Somerset West.

With a Masters diploma in Civil Engineering, Chris is the MD of Abulon. His ability to analyse a project from inception and see it through to the product line is of great benefit to the company. Chris brings with him a conservative approach to business, which is a great advantage in the expanding business community of South Africa. He was chief design draughtsman with AECI, which gave him extensive experience in Mechanical and Civil work. He then joined Vynide as project engineer at their Somerset West operation. Chris was involved with the development of the re-circulation technology which is being used on the abalone farm in Paternoster. He is one of the co-founders of Abulon Holdings and also a major shareholder.

Mark Dale, Chairman (Non executive Director)

Mark Dale is 52 years old and lives in Constantia, Cape Town.

In 1977 Mark entered the computer industry as a programmer for Old Mutual. In 1984 he started his own company, MD&A, which grew to be one of the largest computer software development houses in the Western Cape. In 1997 MD&A merged with a Gauteng based company and the new operation was listed on the JSE under the name of Abraxas. Mark was appointed as a Director and Chief Operating Officer. Abraxas later merged with AST resulting in the creation of the 4th largest computer company in South Africa with over 3,000 members of staff. Mark acted as a Director and Regional Manager for AST. After completing his management contract he retired from the computer industry in 2002.

Mark now owns and operates a Conference and Team Building centre named High Africa on the Breede River in the Worcester Winelands

David Huth, Financial Director (Non executive Director)

David Huth is 65 years old and lives in Bantry Bay, Cape Town

David has many years experience in farming, retail and the liquor industry. He was a director for one of the leading liquor outlets in South Africa for many years and today he successfully runs his own business interests. David is a major shareholder in the abalone farm.

Dexter Roniger, General Manager

Dexter Roniger is 50 years old and lives in Constantia, Cape Town.

Dexter joined Abulon in March 2007. Prior to that he had been involved in the IT Enterprise software solutions business for approximately 25 years of which the last 10 years has been in a management role. During this time his experience has covered sales, marketing and general management including campaigning, cold calling, new sales, strategic relationship building, general business and personnel management. He is also experienced in negotiation for large capital sales and projects. Outgoing in personality, energetic and enthusiastic in approach to business and working with fellow employees. Good at problem solving. Management experience includes general business management, people and project management skills.

Hannes Human, Admin Manager and Company Secretary

Hannes is 41 years old and lives in Kraaifontein.

Hannes graduated with his BA and B Theology degree at the Free State University in 1991. From his graduation through to 1997, he was a minister in the Dutch Reformed Church and Chaplain in the South African National Defence Force where he managed and performed religious services. He then completed an MBA degree at the Graduate School of Business, Stellenbosch in 1999. The subject of his thesis concerned the “Management of ethical behaviour as an integral part of business success”. His business experience includes research of the FMCG market, lecturing, sales, and evaluation of new business opportunities, creation of business plans, general business administration, and accounting and Company Secretarial functions.

Gareth Lawrence, Farm Manager. Nationality: British,SA

Gareth is 27 years old and lives in Paternoster

Gareth has a wide range of experience in fishery & aquaculture management. Gareth began his career in aquaculture at Sparsholt College, Hampshire, successfully completing his BSc Honours in Aquaculture and Fishery Management. Following this Gareth has worked on, managed and assisted in the development of a range of aquatic facilities. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Aquaculture and Fishery Management; Sparsholt College, Hampshire (Affiliated with Portsmouth University)
